DESCRIPTION:Visit the Waikōloa Dry Forest Preserve for a guided hike with our knowledgeable staff. Tours are offered on the First Friday of each month and begin at 5:00 pm at the preserve March through October (4:30 pm November-February) Please come prepared with sturdy shoes\, sun protection\, and a refillable water bottle. Our tours last about 90 minutes and will end with refreshments at our Hana Hou Hale. You can find directions to the preserve here. \nSign Up!

DESCRIPTION:Volunteer with us in the Waikōloa Dry Forest Preserve and spend the morning working in the forest preserve. We provide tools\, gloves\, safety equipment\, and water\, but please bring sun protection\, a refillable water bottle\, and sturdy shoes. We meet at the Waikōloa Dry Forest Preserve front gate at 8am and finish up at the hale for an optional bring-your-own lunch break. \nWe will be limiting participation and implementing social distancing. Sanitized tools will be provided and sanitation supplies will be available. Clean gloves will also be available\, but sterilization cannot be guaranteed\, please consider bringing your own gloves. \nVolunteer Sign-Up

DESCRIPTION:He Wa’a He Moku\, He Moku He Wa’a- The Canoe an Island\, the Island a Canoe. Join Senior Captain and PWO Navigator Chadd Paishon and Voyager and Vice President of Na Kalai Wa’a\, Maulili Dickson\, for an introduction to voyaging and the inherent similarities between living on an island and voyaging in a canoe. They will share their perspectives as navigators and focus their presentation on the relationships between the island resources utilized for the building of a voyaging canoe that becomes an island\, the caring of those resources that ensure a successful voyage\, seeing our island home also as a canoe\, and the ongoing care that is needed to ensure success into the future. \nPlease arrive early to give yourself time to find a seat\, and enjoy refreshments provided by WDFI
