May 20, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm HST

He Wa’a He Moku, He Moku He Wa’a- The Canoe an Island, the Island a Canoe. Join Senior Captain and PWO Navigator Chadd Paishon and Voyager and Vice President of Na Kalai Wa’a, Maulili Dickson, for an introduction to voyaging and the inherent similarities between living on an island and voyaging in a canoe. They will share their perspectives as navigators and focus their presentation on the relationships between the island resources utilized for the building of a voyaging canoe that becomes an island, the caring of those resources that ensure a successful voyage, seeing our island home also as a canoe, and the ongoing care that is needed to ensure success into the future.

Please arrive early to give yourself time to find a seat, and enjoy refreshments provided by WDFI
